Cemetery Trees – A Lullaby

by Elliott Bell

Sleep my little monster
Lay your head down to rest
The sun is coming for you
Retreat into your nest.

Crawl into your coffin
‘Neath the cemetery trees
Creep into your crypt
As softly as you please.

Oh, sleep my little monster
Retract your yearning claws
Withdraw your thirsty fangs
Relax your hungry maw.

For the sun is coming
And with it comes the day
In which the mortals walk
So quiet you must lay.
